A day out with Scoot the Valley
Here at Scoot the Valley we are passionate about ensuring you have a magical day out in the Clare Valley on your hire bikes! We have carefully curated some loops around the Clare Valley that are bike friendly and have you visiting some of the magnificent wineries, restaurants and café’s that the Clare Valley has to offer. Please ensure that you do some research before committing to one of our loops as the venues have different opening hours. If you intend to stop somewhere for lunch we recommend making a booking to avoid disappointment. Please be mindful that these loops take you onto public roads that are shared with vehicles, please be safe and courteous. Enjoy your day!

Scoot HQ/Spring Gully Loop
25.2km – Difficult
Start the day by picking up your bikes from Scoot HQ and head down Dominic Street to Mr Mick restaurant and cellar door! While here treat yourself to a vino and some delicious Tapas or a coffee- don’t forget to try their famous Churros. Then head to the Riesling trail and take a scenic ride along to Mr Mick’s sister winery Tim Adams wines where you can enjoy a tasting flight and a cheese platter in their newly renovated cellar door. From here you can ride from the trail to Shut the Gate wines (just follow the signs along the trail) and then follow the Spring Gully loop where you will visit wineries such as Shut the Gate, Sussex Squire and Eldredges before making a stop at the conservation park. On your way back into Sevenhill you can stop at The Curly goose to try Sawmill Gin before stopping in at the Sevenhill Hotel for a cold beverage and heading back to the trail for an easy ride back to Scoot HQ.

Scoot HQ/Father Rogalski Loop
26.3km – Difficult
Start the day by picking up your bikes from Scoot HQ and head down Dominic Street to Mr Mick restaurant and cellar door! Continue along the Riesling trail until you get to Sevenhill, head up College road and you’ll find yourself at the magnificent Sevenhill Cellars, full of history you’ll be able to tour the grounds here for a while. Then join onto the Father Rogalski Loop and visit Paulett Wines with their Bush Devine Café and Pikes where you’ll find a cellar door, Pikes Beer Company and their sensational Slate restaurant. Then follow Edwards Road north until you reach quarry road where you can stop in at Jaeschkes Hill River Clare Estate before continuing along quarry road back to the Riesling trail for an easy ride back to Scoot HQ.

Scoot HQ/John Horrocks Loop
25.6km – Moderate
Begin your day at Scoot HQ to collect your ride and then make your way to the Riesling trail. Heading south along the trail until you reach Sevenhill where you’ll come across Sevenhill Cellars for your first tasting of the day. Here you’ll be able to explore St Aloysius Church and the surrounding grounds. Then head west on College Road and cross Horrocks Highway continuing on to Bayes Road stopping in at the Little Red Grape for some delicious pastries and possibly a tasting at Wykari Cellar door or Good Catholic Girl. Continue along Bayes road until you reach Hughes Park road, heading south you’ll be able to visit Jeanneret Wines, Clare Valley Brewing Co, Skillogalee Wines, Mitchell Wines, Penna Lane Wines and Kilikanoon Wines. Then follow Horrocks Road, crossing Horrocks Highway and making you way back onto the Riesling trail for an easy ride back to Scoot HQ.

A day out in Auburn
56.1km – Easy
Collect your bikes from Scoot HQ in the morning, stop in at Mr Mick restaurant and cellar door on your way to the Riesling trail for a coffee (or wine) before your big day riding. Once on the Riesling trail you’ve got a bit of ride ahead of you (made easy on our e-bikes) as you leg it to Auburn, you can stay on the trail this whole way, once you arrive in Auburn there are 6 cellar doors all within close range for your enjoyment; Grosset Wines, Mount Horrocks Wines, Wines by KT, Velvet and Willow wines, Mr Nobody and Ulster Park. The head north out of Auburn to Taylors Road and stop in at Taylors Wines before getting back on the Riesling trail for your journey back to Scoot HQ.

Stay Close to Clare
16.6km – Easy
Starting at Scoot HQ head north along Main North Road into the main street of Clare and grab yourself a coffee from Café 1871 or Daily Grind on Main. Continue along Main North Road heading north out of town to find Mad Bastard Wines and Jim Barry Wines. Then head back the way you came and turn down Pioneer Avenue where you’ll come across Knappstein wines. From here make your way to the Gleeson Wetlands where a beautiful trail circles around. Continue up Pioneer Avenue and turn right at Yorke Road making your way onto the Riesling trail. Cruise down until you reach Tim Adams Wines, stop here for a tasting flight and cheese platter before continuing on the trail until the information centre exit and follow the signs to Shut the Gate Wines. Make your way back along main north road and stop in at Greg Cooley wines and the Clare Rise bakery before heading back to Scoot HQ.

The Leasingvale Loop
37.5km – Easy
A beautiful and easy ride that will take you to a number of wineries in Leasingham and Watervale. Start at Scoot HQ and make your way to the Riesling trail. Head south along the Riesling trail and settle in for an easy ride to Leasingham. Your first stop is O’Leary Walker wines, get ready for some epic views across the Valley here. Then head down to Horrocks Highway, ride south until you reach Claymore Wines. Continue this way and stop in at Clos Clare before you make your way into Watervale. Stop in at the Watervale General Store and Provedore before making you way to the Watervale Hotel and Crabtree Watervale Wines. Then make you way back to the Riesling trail for an easy ride back to Scoot HQ.
